Leeds Building Society makes dreams come true 47 years on
Leeds Building Society recently ran a competition for fans to win tickets for Huddersfield Giants forthcoming Challenge Cup Final with Warrington Wolves at Wembley Stadium. One of these winners was John Woodhead, who attended the last Wembley final that Huddersfield were involved in 47 years ago against Wakefield. John went to collect his tickets from the Galpharm Stadium and to receive them from Huddersfield Giants captain Brett Hodgson.
Commenting on his prize John said, "I attended the Challenge Cup Final in 1962 and saw Huddersfield take on Wakefield. It's certainly taken the Giants a few years to get back to Wembley but I'm sure it will be worth the wait. It was fantastic when I found out I'd won the pair of tickets and I would like to thank Huddersfield Giants and Leeds Building Society for giving me this great opportunity."
Leeds Building Society and Huddersfield Giants recently launched a unique new savings account, the Giants saver, which was specifically designed to offer supporters an excellent return on their savings and support the development of youth rugby at the club.
Leeds Building Society Huddersfield Branch Manager John Farrer said, "We are delighted with how this partnership is going and we have certainly timed it wonderfully well, with Huddersfield making their first trip to Wembley since 1962!
"To be able to offer a pair of tickets to John Woodhead, who attended this last final 47 years ago, makes it all the more worthwhile. Let's hope the team continue their recent winning streak and win the Challenge Cup!"
