HSA’s new Dental Plan is proving a success

8th March 2007 Print
HSA’s Dental plan is already proving a success with over 13,000 policies sold since its launch in October 2006.

And with recent media reports surrounding the numbers of dentists choosing to practise privately, HSA predicts these figures will increase significantly.

John Dean, Sales and Distribution Director at HSA, says: “HSA is delighted that it can now offer a dental only plan, especially in light of the significant reforms to NHS dentistry. Due to the fact that many dentists are now practising privately, many patients are seeking alternative ways to fund their dental care. HSA understands that regular visits to the dentist are vital to maintain good oral health, which is why its Dental Plan offers money back towards NHS or private dental maintenance and treatment.

We’ve had a great deal of interest in the Dental Plan since it was launched from companies wishing to offer the plan as an employee benefit. And with news that fewer than one in four dentists is taking on new NHS patients1, we expect to see sales of the Dental Plan increase in the near future.”

HSA’s Dental Plan offers cash back on NHS or private treatment and maintenance, dental accidents and emergencies and offers a lump sum if a member is diagnosed with mouth cancer (a qualifying period may apply). In addition, children under the age of 18 can join the plan from as little as £1 per month. John Dean explains: “HSA’s Dental Plan has been really well received by patients, who not only welcome being able to claim back money on both NHS and private treatment, but who also like the affordability of the Plan. Following the launch of the Dental Plan HSA has also had a significant number of calls from dentists who wish to communicate the Plan to their patients through literature and mailings. As a result our new Dental Development Team is visiting dentists across the country to offer advice on helping their patients to access affordable dental care.”
