AXA PPP healthcare boost for Child Accident Prevention Trust

23rd February 2009 Print
AXA PPP healthcare will be donating £20 to the Child Accident Prevention Trust for every sale of its medical insurance policy designed exclusively for children - First Healthcare.

According to the trust - Britain's leading charity working to reduce accident-related death and injury of children - accidents put more children in hospital in the UK than any other cause.

Whilst the NHS is well placed to provide urgent treatment following an accident, First Healthcare helps to complement its service by providing parents with the peace of mind of knowing that, if their child suffers from an illness or injury that doesn't require A&E attention, they'll be covered for prompt private access to specialists following GP referral as well as for diagnostic out-patient tests and scans. And, if hospital in-patient or day-patient treatment is required, the policy pays for the child to go private straight away if the NHS cannot treat them within six weeks of when treatment should take place - which avoids delays and helps keep premiums affordable.

The plan costs £9.99 for the first child covered and £7.99 for each additional child. For more information about this offer, visit axappphealthcare.co.uk/capt

Paul O'Grady, AXA PPP healthcare marketing manager, said: "We're pleased to be helping the trust to continue its work in providing parents and carers with expert, practical information to prevent accidents to children and, in addition to the donations, we are promoting the trust's work to our customers through our membership communications."

Welcoming this new relationship, Katrina Phillips, chief executive of the Child Accident Prevention Trust said: "We are delighted to be working with AXA PPP healthcare, who share our commitment to preventing accidents to children.

"Every week 2,000 children are admitted to hospital - a harrowing experience for the children and families involved. Our aim is to stop children being badly hurt in accidents and we appreciate the boost AXA PPP will bring to our work - both in respect of spreading the word and through the donations made on the sales of its children's plan."
