Hat trick victory for luxury property developer
The luxury residential property developer has won planning permission for two new developments in Surbiton and West Wickham, and has also been awarded Platinum for ‘Best Family Homes’ at the annual Hot Property awards. The new residential development in Surbiton - 7 @ The Rising Sun - replaces what was formerly The Rising Sun pub following CALA’s successful application for change of use, and will help fulfil the current high demand for quality family housing within Surbiton. The development’s prime location - near to the train station and town centre - makes it ideal for those wanting to settle down in this popular suburban area. Construction at 7 @ The Rising Sun is due to commence during July 2007 with the homes being released for sale shortly after.
CALA has also won planning permission to build on the former Knotley School site off Sherwood Road in West Wickham. The development will feature 34 one and two-bedroom apartments, four two-bedroom houses and one three-bedroom house. A further 16 two-bedroom apartments will be built for affordable equity share housing. The development, which is on behalf of Barnardo Developments Ltd, will involve the conversion of the site’s large, locally-listed Manor House into 10 apartments and will be released for sale in April 2007.
The hat trick is completed with Longfield Grove winning the Platinum Award for ‘Best Family Homes’ at the annual Hot Property awards 2007. The Dorking-based development - consisting of 30 high specification units - received recognition from the property industry for its design and approach to family living.
Graham Cunningham, land and planning director, CALA Homes (South) concludes, “At CALA, we always strive to achieve success and it’s great to see our hard work pay off with three prestigious wins. Obtaining planning permission is becoming increasingly complex, but we have an in-depth understanding of the process and are keen - through our researched, careful and sympathetic planning - to add value for land owners.”
