Artistic investor puts his faith in water colour

Leon Deith with his kids After selling his £2.5m home in Leigh, Surrey, Fine art salesman Leon Deith decided to pool the funds straight back into property, finding the ideal solution to be just round the corner at Linden Homes’ Water Colour development in Redhill.

Seeing the Surrey development as an ideal investment location, Leon used the money from a business venture as well as his house sale to buy three properties at the site, including two apartments and a four bedroom home on the edge of the Water Colour lagoon.

Leon’s faith in the development was emphasised with his decision to keep the larger property as a home for him and his three children, moving in to establish himself as both landlord and resident of the Water Colour village.

Commenting on his new property portfolio Leon said:

“I managed to free substantial funds following the sale of the house and my online gaming business. I knew that I wanted to invest in property and Water Colour was a major development that I was aware of, taking place just around the corner from my home in Leigh. With all the water and green open space in and around the development, Water Colour makes for a tremendous investment opportunity, as well as a lovely place to live.”

Leon also chose Water Colour for its geographical convenience. A familiar location and proximity to his three children made living at the development all the more convenient, a factor Leon considered essential in order to manage his new investment properties, which he intends to let out once the homes are complete.

“We sold the property in Leigh after my wife and I separated and the most important thing was to find a new home close to my children. When I move in at Water Colour, the kids will be five minutes down the road, and being so close to the apartments will make the tenancies far easier to manage.”

Paul Cooper, Managing Director of Linden Homes South East comments:

“It is a great testament when an investor like Leon is willing to put such faith in one of our developments. Leon shares our vision for the community being created at Water Colour and we are sure he will have every success in his role as landlord at The Artist’s Quarter.”

Apartments at The Artist’s Quarter currently start at £237,500 for two bedroom, two bathroom apartments with a balcony and allocated parking. A range of waterside homes are available at Water Colour including three-story terraces overlooking the reed beds and four bedroom detached homes on the edge of the lagoon. Prices range between £500,000 and £649,995.
