Retirees show market strength

Retirees show market strength Robust sales of retirement properties are proving that pensioners are resilient house buyers in today’s market, says Linden Homes. The developer’s age restricted (+65) collection of homes - Ashcroft Place in Leatherhead, Surrey, was Linden Homes’ number one selling development in January and now only three homes remain for sale.

Each purchaser is offered an assisted move initiative and the opportunity to tailor interior specification to their own tastes with bespoke furniture vouchers worth £7,000.

Paul Cooper, Managing Director of Linden Homes South East, comments:

“Retirement homes are clearly resilient to any market turbulence. When someone opts to downsize or move into a retirement community it is usually a lifestyle decision and not dictated by what’s happening in the market.

“These buyers have often reached the top of the property ladder, can be mortgage-free and therefore typically have a comfortable amount of equity in their home. Developers are also increasingly sensitive to individual circumstances in downsizing customers, and can tailor the moving process to meet the buyers’ requirements.

“Many customers at Ashcroft Place have taken advantage of the interior design vouchers in order to modify their homes, and several have even opted to buy showhomes ‘lock stock and barrel’, taking everything as seen, from living room furniture to kitchen cutlery!”

Linden has teamed up with leading bespoke furniture company, Neville Johnson to give customers an opportunity to tailor the highly specified apartments at Ashcroft Place with their very own design of handcrafted bespoke furniture.

Prices at Ashcroft Place currently start at £199,950. For details visit Lindenhomes.co.uk.
