Egham development awarded Best Housing Development Scheme Runnymede Borough Council has selected the new development at Albany Court, Egham in Surrey, built by developers Runnymede Homes, to receive this year's Design Award in the category of Best Housing Development (Large) Scheme.

The awards are now in their seventh year and nominations are open to all residents and businesses in Runnymede and are voted for by the members of the council's planning committee.

The development is situated in the heart of historic Egham and includes 24 stylish apartments and a terrace of 4, three bedroom houses, which feature, Victorian style limestone fireplaces, landscaped gardens and paved patio area. The properties are all built to an exceptional specification and the flats, some of which have lift access, all feature highly insulated concrete floors. An enclosed bin store and cycle storage racks complete the external communal areas.

For added security, there are locks on all doors and windows, mains operated smoke alarms, a security entry phone system for each apartment and pre-wired for "NACOSS" approved alarm.

Brendan Smyth, Client Manager for Townends New Homes comments, "The properties were designed to provide practical, modern day living that is ideal for first or second time buyers, as well as people looking to downsize. These last few remaining apartments have generously proportioned accommodation and represent true value for money in a current market of uncertainty. We are very proud to have been involved in the marketing of this award winning development."

The final four two bedroom, two bathroom apartments are now available and are on the market with Townends in Egham, ranging in price from £269,950 to £285,000. Two are on the ground floor and two are on the first floor with two of the apartments featuring hexagonal living rooms.
