A change for the better at Warren Court

6th May 2008 Print
A change for the better at Warren Court While downsizing is a move many consider, offering to free up both equity and time spent on DIY and maintaining large gardens, making the move itself can be tough -especially if it means moving out of the family home. At Warren Court in Ashtead, Millgate Homes has created an environment that could offer the perfect solution. Exclusively for the over 65s, with a discreet concierge service and beautifully furnished residents’ drawing room, this collection of just thirty 1 and 2 bedroom apartments has been designed with discerning downsizers in mind.

Located on the edge of the charming village of Ashtead, Warren Court lies within strolling distance of a host of local amenities while also being well placed for all the surrounding Surrey countryside has to offer. So, if you’ve been thinking of downsizing for some time but have yet to find the right property, a visit to Warren Court could provide the answer, as Ivy Gosling found out:

“When my husband passed away last year, I no longer felt I could stay alone in the family home – not only was it too large for one person, but I felt lonely. The majority of my neighbours were out working, so I couldn’t just drop in for a coffee during the day. Some friends had moved into a nearby retirement scheme and were really enjoying their new lifestyle, so I made the decision that it was time for me to downsize too.

“But while I felt that the time was right to make a move, I knew that the type of development my friends had moved to wasn’t for me – the development itself felt too large and impersonal, while the rooms in the apartments were too small. However, I really liked the idea of a communal area where I could relax and have a chat and a coffee with my neighbours, so a normal apartment scheme didn’t fit what I was looking for either.

“I also didn’t want to leave Ashtead – it has a real sense of community and there are always plenty of events being planned through the church and other local groups, and there’s a lot to do in the surrounding area. Warren Court is exactly what I have been looking for – the apartments feel spacious and well planned and the specification is lovely. I’m really looking forward to moving in and being able to socialise in the residents’ drawing room, but still enjoy my privacy.”

To help make downsizing to Warren Court even easier, Millgate Homes is offering to take the strain out of the sale of your existing home through its Assisted Move package.

With up to £7,500 toward agent’s fees relating to the sale of your existing property, £1,000 toward legal fees and £1,000 towards removal costs on offer, subject to terms and conditions, the ‘Assisted Move’ package is designed to make your move as stress-free as possible. The scheme also includes a handyman for the day once you have moved into your new Millgate apartment, to help with those fiddly jobs such as fitting curtain rails and fixing pictures.

Prices at Warren Court start from £249,950. To find out whether the Assisted Move scheme could help you make the move you’ve been waiting for, visit the Sales and Marketing Suite, open daily from 10am – 4pm.
