New lease of life for former Ann Summers warehouse
Barratt Southern Counties is busy working on its new development at Gadoline Gate just to the north of Whyteleafe; formerly the Ann Summers warehouse. Barratt is building 118 apartments and a doctors' surgery on this 2.2 acre site. The residential element will comprise 46 one-bedroom apartments and 72 two-bedroom apartments; 16 of which will be designated as affordable homes.Trevor Sawyer comments: "We are delighted to be developing on this well-known site, which will bring much-needed private and affordable accommodation to the area. Together with the primary health care building it will be a real asset to the local community. We hope our new development will be just as much a landmark as the Ann Summers warehouse had become."
Whyteleafe is ideally situated on the edge of the North Downs and within easy
reach of local shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. Croydon is just a 15 minute drive away, offering access to many of the major retail chains at the Whitgift Shopping Centre. The wider area of the Borough of Tandridge also offers plenty of parks and open spaces, sport facilities, bars, restaurants and a cinema.
There is easy access to key road and rail networks with the M25 just 5 miles away, and two railway stations provide direct services to either London Bridge or Victoria in approximately 45 minutes.
