Planning permission acquired for 48 new homes in Caterham

Caterham is under pressure for development following the South East England Regional Assembly (SEERA) ‘Future Housing Needs' report, which outlines the town as an area that could accommodate 260 more homes. Barratt's Liberty Park and Liberty Place address the recent concerns regarding the protection of the town's greenbelt.
Trevor Sawyer, managing director of Barratt Southern Counties, comments, "We are delighted that our plans for this site have been approved. There is a huge demand for high quality housing at reasonable prices around Caterham and there is no doubt that this new development on brownfield land will make a substantial contribution to the area. Prospective buyers should register their interest now as we are already receiving a high volume of enquiries."
The development, which features ground source heat pumps, will be environmentally responsible. The Barratt Group is one of Britain's foremost sustainable homebuilders. The Barratt Green House on the BRE Park in Garston is the first Code for Sustainable Homes Level 6 unit built by a major homebuilder.
Nestling in the North Downs, Caterham has a distinctive character. Although it is only two miles from junction 6 of the M25, it is surrounded by the Surrey Hills, giving it a true country ambience. Just a 45 minute train journey to London Bridge, and seven miles from Croydon, this pretty town is ideally situated.
