Family homes for modern lifestyles

Family homes for modern lifestyles Award winning developer Consero Homes highlights the growing demand for family homes adapted to suit the needs of today’s extended families. The Victorian idea of the house as a box, with rigidly-defined rooms for sleeping, eating and relaxing, is not compatible with how we live now. Developers are having to think more creatively about how space is used and the future needs of occupiers.

With this in mind, Consero Homes has recently unveiled a niche development of just three modern homes at Woodland Drive in Cobham, Surrey. The sumptuous family homes each boast more than 5,000 sq ft of flexible living space and are just a short distance from some of Surrey’s most prestigious schools.

Steve Glover, Director of Consero Homes comments: “The homes at Woodland Drive provide the perfect setting to raise a family. Situated away from the road, the properties provide a huge amount of space within a secluded woodland setting. A home at Woodland Drive means families have a number of flexible spaces in which to spend time, whether watching a movie in the media room, eating family meals in the dining or breakfast room, or just relaxing in the garden. The development has already proved incredibly popular with young families, with a large number from London visiting the development.”

The rooms at Woodland Drive are divided across three floors, producing light and spacious homes with defined zones for eating, socialising and relaxing. The main family areas are located on the lower ground floor. The large open plan kitchen and breakfast room, the heart of any family home, provides the perfect setting to create meals and a relaxed atmosphere for family dining. The inclusion of the latest Miele appliances such as the two ovens, hob, wine coolers, two large integrated fridge/freezers and dishwasher are designed to provide for the larger family or those who enjoy party entertaining.

Adjacent to the kitchen and breakfast room is the dedicated family area which sits within a double height glazed atrium, flooding the lower ground floor with natural light. Consero Homes has included a state-of-the-art media and games room, ready for the latest in audio visual entertainment, including plasma points for televisions, wiring for surround sound and a high tech audio system. This addition to the home has created the perfect space for families to spend time watching movies and is complete with a hidden storage facility. The lower ground floor is completed by the family dining room, perfect for entertaining or family celebrations.

The ground floor features a large living room with its own balcony, providing parents with a space to relax. The expansive master bedroom is also situated on the ground floor and includes a dressing room and a sumptuous en suite bathroom with Krion sanitaryware and a body master jet high pressure shower system. Finally on the ground floor Consero Homes has created a flexible space which can be used as a bedroom, or transformed into a study/home office, providing residents with the opportunity to work from home.

Upstairs, the top floor features three well sized bedrooms each with fitted wardrobes which provide superior amounts of storage space. The largest of the bedrooms features an en suite bathroom perfect for older children returning from university or visiting grandparents. The main family bathroom completes this floor.

Located in the picturesque village of Cobham, Woodland Drive is within easy reach of a number of the area’s excellent schools. The Royal Kent Primary School, in Oxshott, is one the best primary schools in the area having achieved an outstanding rating in its 2008 Ofsted report. For older children, the Reeds School, located in Cobham is an independent school for boys aged 11-18 with a co-ed sixth form. In 2007, 100 percent of students at the Reed School achieved seven or more A to C passes at GCSE, and 75 percent of A Level students attained grades A to B.

For parents looking for a less traditional option, The American Community School, also in Cobham, is a co-ed independent boarding school for children aged 2½ -18. This multinational day and boarding school educates children in accordance with international principles, with students completing the International Baccalaureate, as apposed to traditional A-Levels.

Further to Woodland Drive, Consero Homes is also currently developing Silverbirches a stunning six-bedroom, four-bathroom, family home with heated swimming pool located on Fairmile Park, in Cobham. The luxury home is due to be completed in the autumn. For more information see Conseromhomes.com.

The homes at Woodland Drive are priced from £2.295 million. For further information see Conserohomes.com.
