Tesco effect pulls in the punters in Redhill

Tesco effect pulls in the punters in Redhill Linden Homes has recorded a surge of sales at its Water Colour development in Redhill, defying the current squeeze being experienced in much of the property market, with 50% of homes at its brand new ‘Spectrum' range selling off-plan in just three weeks.

The new collection of eighteen one and two bedroom apartments is located at the heart of the 500 home Water Colour community. Its popularity has been buoyed by the presence of a Tesco metro store, integrated within the scheme, providing residents with ultimate convenience. Nine homes were snapped up straightaway, and prospective homebuyers now have the chance to get a glimpse of their future home first-hand, following the opening of a new show-apartment this month.

As well as a prime location, the new collection of apartments offers excellent value for money for first-time buyers struggling to make any headway in the current market. Prices start at just £180,000 for a one bedroom home at Water Colour, and there is also access to Linden's shared equity scheme, which allows buyers to purchase a 75% share of their property for as little as £135,000.

Homes at Spectrum overlook the Water Colour ‘Town Square' - a pedestrianised focal point for the new community, including fountain, walkways and landscaped communal areas. Homes also overlook the development's newly introduced reed bed channel.

Paul Cooper, Managing Director of Linden Homes South East, comments:

"It is very encouraging to witness an influx of sales at this new collection of apartments, as it shows that buyers at the sharp end of the market are finding a way to get on the property ladder. Homes at Spectrum offer outstanding value for money in an area popular with London commuters.

"These new apartments boast an exceptional all-round package, combing a high standard of contemporary living and direct access to top level amenities, with a picturesque backdrop that ensures residents are never far from the surrounding nature and countryside.

"Residents have parking and lift access to their homes from one side of building, with the new Tesco store integrated on the other side of the ground floor. This provides them with the closest possible link to convenience shopping, whilst retaining their own separate home space."

Homebuyers with a lower budget still have the opportunity to take advantage of Linden's attractive shared equity offer. The scheme, allowing buyers to own 100% of their new home, with an initial payment of just 75%, is available on two of the remaining homes at Spectrum.

Prices start at £180,000 for one bedroom apartments and £215,000 for two bedroom apartments (£135,000 and £161,250 respectively for 75% shared equity).
