Barratt welcomes Councillors to The Acres, Horley

Councillors from Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and Horley Town Council were recently welcomed by Barratt Southern Counties to a tour of the three showhomes now open at The Acres in Horley. It was a great opportunity for them to see the standard of housing now under construction at this site that will eventually comprise around 500 homes.

The showhomes demonstrate the three, four and five-bedroom houses available at prices ranging from £299,995 for a semi-detached three-bedroom home up to £599,995 for a large five-bedroom detached house.

The three showhomes, unveiled in September this year, mark the launch of The Acres development, a major new £163m housing project in Langshott, Horley - a joint venture by partners Barratt Southern Counties and Wates Developments.

When complete, The Acres will be a new community, set in over 129 acres on the north eastern edge of Horley. It will have its own primary school, a community centre, convenience store and parking for visitors as well as residents.

The convenience of The Acres location will be further boosted by the ‘Fastway' bus service. It will link The Acres directly with Horley town centre, Crawley and Gatwick airport, the latter just four miles away. This intelligent, integrated transport system uses dedicated lanes and is designed to give an efficient alternative to the private car.

Horley provides excellent amenities, with a wide variety of high street and independent shops, restaurants, bars and its own theatre. Redhill and Reigate, both approximately five miles away, present other attractive destinations.

For relaxed days out, there are plenty of traditional pubs to discover in the surrounding villages, and a network of local footpaths lead to the beautiful open countryside of The Weald.

For school-age parents, the wide choice of state and independent primary and secondary schools in the vicinity includes the popular Oakwood School in Horley and St Bede's in Redhill.
