Double delight at Barratt development in Redhill

The couple wanted more room for their growing twins, and a better environment for their upbringing. Barratt’s development delivers on both counts. It’s a new residential village on the outskirts of Redhill, with over 168 new apartments and houses amidst plenty of green spaces, lakes, footpaths and cycleways.
Barratt also helped the Mhlangas with two key offers – they bought their existing home under the Barratt Home Exchange deal, and also met the couple’s expenses on stamp duty and moving costs.
“We love our new house,” says Tawanda Mhlanga, a trainee accountant. “And we love the green surroundings and open spaces. It’s just what we wanted for our twins. We think it’s going to be a great place for them to grow up in. The two Barratt offers really swung the deal. The Home Exchange package, in particular, takes all the hassle out of selling and moving.”
Space and surroundings were key elements in their choice. They had been living in New Cross for five years. The twins’ arrival made them stop and think about where best to bring them up, but still leave London within commuting distance. They spotted the development on the internet.
Edith Mhlanga is a qualified accountant who works in the centre of London. “We’ve got a different lifestyle now,” says Edith. “We’ve much more room, and with four bathrooms everyone is happy! It means friends and relatives can come and stay and it’s no hassle. Commuting is very straightforward for me, which was an important factor. London is only 40 minutes away and Impress@Park25 really is convenient as I can walk to the station.”
As well as more space in their new home, including a utility room, garage and bigger garden, they have benefited directly from having the added luxury of a study for Tawanda.
Their new home is also central enough to walk to all the local amenities including schools, the church - St. Joseph’s - they regularly attend, and the shops.
The surroundings of their new home are much quieter than New Cross and more family-oriented. The large amount of green open space is ideal for the children to play in. It is a safer environment with more opportunities for them during their childhood years.
When the weather is good they spend a lot of time outside with the twins; they visit the memorial park in Redhill, which is within walking distance, as well as other parks. There is also a theatre in the centre of Redhill to which they plan to take the girls in the future, and they can walk to the shopping centre at the weekends where there is a large Sainsbury’s.
Redhill is a lively town with great shops, restaurants and bars. Other sporting amenities include a good number of golf courses within ten miles. The town is surrounded by the North Downs, providing plenty of opportunities for relaxing in the lovely countryside.
All commuter links from Impress@Park 25 are excellent. As well as the fast trains to London that attracted Edith, it is close to Gatwick Airport, and lying between the M23 and M25, Redhill is within easy reach of the motorway network.
Three-bedroom houses are currently available from £339,995 and four-bedroom houses are available from £349,995 at Impress@Park 25. There are also one and two-bedroom apartments starting from £174,995. For further information log on to Barratthomes.co.uk.
