Tabard Square wins Housing Design Awards
Berkeley Homes (East Thames) Ltd’s Tabard Square in Borough, SE1, has won the Housing Design Awards 2007. The award honours excellence in building design and sustainability and were announced on Thursday July 19th. The developments are judged on a number of factors including external appearance, internal planning, finishes, detailing and workmanship.Tabard Square is the development of one of the largest brownfield sites in London. It comprises 572 one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses located in two contemporary-style buildings and a tower standing at 22- storeys high.
The sleek contemporary exterior also features a unique barometer controlled beacon, which changes colour depending on the barometric pressure. The beacon sits on the very top of the landmark 22-storey tower and creates an impressive sight on the South London skyline.
Just two penthouses remain for sale at Tabard Square, and like all of the apartments at the development, they feature well-designed interiors that offer open-plan living. A highly contemporary specification is completed with luxury details, finishes and high quality workmanship to create the ultimate London penthouse. Lineana Quattro Italian fitted kitchens are completed with Miele stainless steel appliances.
The penthouses also benefit from a spiral staircase with glass treads and curved glass balustrade, a paved terrace and decked balcony, zonal underfloor heating system and a hard wired integrated audio visual system that includes ceiling speakers, wall-mounted control points and an Ipod docking station.
The extensive glazing at Tabard Square ensures that the penthouses offer the most unrivalled views of London. The Millennium Wheel on the South Bank, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower 42, the Shell Building, Southwark Cathedral, Tate Modern, the Houses of Parliament, the BT Tower, 30 St Mary Axe (the ‘Gherkin’), Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf in the Docklands can all be seen from the apartments.
Tabard Square boasts a 24-hour concierge, 46,000 square foot of commercial space and a 40,000 square foot internal courtyard, which is set to become the hub of the local community.
Tabard Square is located within easy reach of both Borough underground station, which provides access to the London underground Northern line and London Bridge station, with mainline rail services and the Jubilee line services.
The last remaining penthouses are priced from £1.4 million to £2.5 million. Viewings are by appointment only. For further information or to arrange a viewing of the penthouse, visit Tabard-square.co.uk.
