Barratt’s spectacular Royals project moves to final phase
Barratt’s spectacular Capital East project in London Docklands has entered its final phase with a new building of dockside apartments, all with views over the Royal Docks. Only 50 studio, one and two-bedroom apartments remain available for sale, at prices from under £256,000.Capital East is one of the largest single redevelopment projects in London Docklands and will eventually comprise over 700 new apartments in a series of ten ultra-modern glass-walled buildings rising to a maximum of 18 storeys. The development cover some three acres of former dockside.
The Royals area has boomed in recent years and is now one of the most exciting and vibrant areas of Docklands. Adjacent to the ExCel Exhibition Centre and benefiting from the outstanding new transport infrastructure across Docklands, Capital East is bringing new restaurants, offices and retail, plus dockside walks and a new footbridge to Royal Victoria DLR Station. Two new hotels providing over 450 rooms are also now completed on adjacent sites, joining several others in the area, and City Airport is just at the other end of the dock.
Although Capital East has a stunning range of show partments, Barratt has been marketing the £210m developmeny from a converted 100ft river barge moored alongside. Complete with decked terraces and planting, the boat is fully furnished, air conditioned and wired for communications.
Barratt East London managing director Alastair Baird said: “Capital East’s major advantage is that it overlooks one the largest open spaces in inner-London - the 235-acre expanse of the preserved Royal Docks. Nothing is ever going to change that view.
“What we’re offering at Capital East are big apartments that are not just fabulous style statements with incredible views in a location that has ‘grown up’ and joined the rest of London to become a hugely convenient location – and incredible value for money in London, too.”
Capital East is on part of the old docksides which surround the huge Royal Docks, one of the largest hand-dug expanses of water in the UK. The sheer scale of the docks has already proven attractive to new homebuyers on the Silvertown side, and has also enabled larger business like ExCel and City Airport to become successfully established on the eastern side of the City.
Homes at Capital East have fully-fitted designer kitchens, complete with integrated appliances, and fully-fitted bathrooms. Many apartments have glass walls and balconies or roof terraces from which to enjoy the views.
Lifts serve all floors through stylish common areas and there is private parking for residents. A health and fitness suite is open for the exclusive use of residents and there is a round-the-clock concierge service.
As well as being convenient for ExCel, City Airport and Canary Wharf, the Royals area has excellent rail communications with the City and central London and is adjacent to the new Docklands road network which connects directly to Blackwall Tunnel, the A13 trunk road, the North Circular Road, M11 and M25.
Selling now at Capital East are higher-level one and two-bedroom overlooking the dock, with stunning water views from every apartment. Prices for studio apartments start at £254,995, one-bedroom apartments start from £255,995 with two-bedroom duplex apartments from £440,995.
The floating marketing suite and a range of superb new show apartments are open daily from 10.00am to 6.00pm. Alternatively, log on to Barratthomes.co.uk.
