7 million refurbishment programme at Guoman Hotel

Guoman is a deluxe brand and the move follows the grand opening in 2004 of The Cumberland Hotel at Marble Arch as the first Guoman Hotel.
As a result of The Tower becoming part of the Guoman group, a major internal and external refurbishment programme has taken place, which has included the re-branding of the bars and restaurant facilities. London based, architectural designers, RDD have been responsible for the majority of this refurbishment.
Jeremy Scarlett, Director at RDD says,” We have worked with Guoman (previously Thistle) for a number of years and were heavily involved with major refurbishments at The Cumberland including the main reception. We have currently completed the Tower Suite Function Suite for a tight deadline; it is used annually as the location for the London Marathon Registration.”
The refurbishment and re-branding of the Water Café as a new Brasserie, with extensive views of the river, were recently completed by RDD to great acclaim and the company has re-branded several communal areas including foyer, lounge, gallery and reception.
COO of Guoman Hotels, Sanjay Nijhawan says,” The unique location of The Tower makes this prestigious hotel a natural addition to the Guoman portfolio. The hotel serves the needs of corporate travellers from banking, financial services and professional sectors in the city and Canary Wharf, as well as leisure guests. We are delighted with the ideas and professional approach of RDD at this critical time in our re-branding programme.”
