South London apartments for first time buyers

The 32 one-bedroom apartments at Zen will be released for sale on Saturday 9th February for purchase under English Partnerships’ First Time Buyers Initiative scheme. This allows first time buyers, who cannot afford the full cost of a home, to buy a property through an affordable mortgage with government assistance for the remainder of the purchase price. The government assistance is paid directly to Barratt Kent by English Partnerships.
“We are delighted to introduce this initiative to help people who otherwise could not afford to buy a home,” comments Ann Moriarty, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt Kent. “These are great apartments, close to excellent facilities and with very good transport links. We anticipate a great deal of interest in these homes.”
Zen is located on Anerley Park Road, close to Crystal Palace Park – one of London’s most important parks - and a short distance from the high street.
Travelling around is easy. Trains from Anerley Station run to London Bridge every half hour, taking just 20 minutes, and new train services are planned in preparation for the 2012 Olympics. Travelling by bus is equally convenient with a frequent direct bus service to Crystal Palace and Oxford Street.
Four different styles of apartments at Zen give buyers plenty of choice. The homes are very well designed with an open-plan living/dining/ kitchen area that uses space to the best advantage. Fully equipped kitchens, by Paula Rosa, include a washer/dryer. Rooms are generously sized with a double bedroom and generous bathroom. An audio entry system provides peace of mind.
Anerley is a lively area with a good selection of shops, bistros and cafés and there is plenty more entertainment in neighbouring Norwood, Penge and Beckenham.
Crystal Palace Park is just a short walk away. This haven of green space for walking, cycling or simply chilling out is also home to the National Sports Centre and hosts many musical and cultural events in the summer.
Apartments at Zen start from just £195,000.
