More to gain with a seat on the train

7th February 2008 Print
More to gain with a seat on the train Living further away from the city centre may mean longer travel times, but for a number of purchasers the extra minutes are worth it for higher quality apartments. New build developments such as Beaufort Park, by London’s leading mixed use developer, St George, Hendon, NW9, not only offer fantastic value but the added bonus of a ‘seat on the train’.

Rebecca Ward, a classical dance student at London Studio Centre, owns a two bedroom, two bathroom Elite apartment within the Pinnacle Apartments at Beaufort Park. As a student, Rebecca was looking for a high quality property with great design that was also close to transport links into Central London where she studies.

Rebecca comments: “I decided I wanted a new build property from the start because I didn’t want to have to make any improvements when I moved in. I wanted to live somewhere that was perfect already but was close enough to commute to school. When I realised the commute would be ten minutes longer I was not worried at all - the development is definitely worth the extra travel time and it means that I will get a seat on the train!”

A study, by the University of the West of England, showed that the average commuter spends around 139 hours a year travelling to and from work suggesting that commuters use the time to ‘re-energise’ and relax - time Rebecca can utilise thinking about her studies and how she will furnish her new home.

Rebecca continued: “I was really excited to find Beaufort Park because the show apartment was fabulous and the plans for the boulevard and gardens will be great to enjoy in the summertime. I can’t wait to move in and decorate my new flat.” Currently living in Hampstead, Rebecca plans to let out one of the rooms to a friend from school.

The Pinnacle Apartments, are an elegantly designed 14 storey tower set at the heart of Beaufort Park, including spacious and highly specified apartments and penthouses offering unrivalled panoramic vistas. The groundbreaking new mixed-use development, is situated on the historically important former RAF Hendon Aerodrome site and provides stylish contemporary homes surrounded by tree-lined boulevards and landscaped parkland.

Incorporating a Young’s bar and restaurant, convenience store, Bright Horizons nursery, resident’s gym, business centre, 24 hour estate-management, ATM and managed car parking, Beaufort Park will offer the conveniences required for a modern lifestyle, whilst being only a few minutes’ walk from Colindale Underground station with direct rail connections to the heart of London and beyond.
