Barratt helps graduates buy their first home

Graduates Kelly McAree 22 and Gary McLelland 22 thought they could not afford to buy their own newly-built home unless they found one that came with a special first time buyer offer.

When they discovered The Arc, Barratt’s striking apartment development in Harrow, they liked it so much they decided to take a closer look, despite there being no specific first time buyer incentive available.

Barratt’s current ‘deals built around you’ promotion was to prove the solution for the couple, with a tailor-made deal enabling them to buy a two bedroom apartment, which they will move in to in June.

Kelly, who read English Literature at Oxford University and who is now a Management Consultant, says: “The Barratt sales negotiators at The Arc worked with us to find a deal that would suit our budget and their flexibility allowed us to take our first step on to the property ladder. The whole purchasing process was straight forward and I would recommend other first time buyers ask Barratt to find the right deal for them.”

Gary graduated in Marine Biology at Portsmouth University and hopes to work at the RSPCA one day. He and Kelly found The Arc on the Barratt website. Kelly adds: “We chose Barratt because it has a good reputation and when we visited the development in Harrow we knew it would be ideal for us; it’s modern and the location is great.”

The Arc is located at the end of Stanley Road, in an attractive area with traditional Victorian terraced homes, shops and cafés. A large Waitrose supermarket is less than a five-minute walk away and the Underground is around a ten-minute walk from the development.

The scheme provides 129 private one and two bedroom apartments, 4000 square feet of office space and an attractive pedestrian plaza. Stylish interiors include smart kitchens with a range of integrated appliances, and open-plan kitchen/dining and living rooms that are ideal for entertaining. Prices for apartments at The Arc are from £215,000, for a one bedroom apartment with a balcony and from £275,000 for a two bedroom apartment with a balcony.
