A hidden gem in one of London’s greenest suburbs

Barratt has started work on a new development of 18 stylish homes in one of north-east London’s greenest and most desirable suburbs: Wanstead. The development – called Sycamore Villas after the trees that surround much of the site – is in a quiet but convenient location off New Wanstead in the Snaresbrook area of Wanstead (E11), close to Wanstead High Street.

Sycamore Villas will be made up of two elements. The first comprises a pair of traditionally-styled buildings facing out into New Wanstead, both designed to be in keeping with local residential architecture and each offering five luxury two-bedroom apartments.

Between the two buildings is a private drive leading to a stunning modern, two-storey building in the landscaped grounds behind. This comprises a further eight apartments, complete with private underground parking.

The entire development is accessed through impressive electronically-controlled gates.

All homes at Sycamore Villas will have fully-fitted designer kitchens, complete with integrated appliances, and fully-fitted bathrooms. All apartments have private parking and there will also be some visitor parking within the development.

Wanstead includes the southern tip of Epping Forest and is blessed with one of the largest public open spaces in London, the famous Wanstead Flats, as well as the lake known as Eagle Pond, which includes islands and abundant birdlife.

Also within easy strolling distance of Sycamore Villas is Snaresbrook tube station, which offers fast Central Line services to central London and northwards to Epping and the Essex countryside. The new A12 trunk road link runs through Wanstead and offers direct links to the M11, M25, Canary Wharf and Blackwall Tunnel.

Wanstead has a stylish town centre with excellent independent shopping, cafes, bars, restaurants and leisure businesses.

Prices at Sycamore Court are expected to start at around £400,000 and a sales office will open on the site in May.
