Work well underway at The Willows

This former sixth form college site was also previously home to The Willows primary school, which was attended by Trevor Sawyer, Managing Director of Barratt Southern Counties when he was just five years old. His affectionate memories of his former school are ensuring that the development is being treated with extra-special care and respect. "Building this development is not the end of an era," he commented, "we know we will be enriching the local community when everything we have planned is complete."
Selling the site to Barratt has enabled Merton College to fund an ambitious £22 million project, which is improving opportunities for more than 5,000 pupils studying at its main site in London Road, and has ensured that the development is a change for the better for all involved.
Among the 283 new homes will be three and four-storey townhouses and two-storey houses, which will be available with two, three or four bedrooms along with one and two bedroom apartments. Residents will also benefit from a pharmacy and a nursery.
The development provides reasonably priced housing in an area convenient for commuters. Residents can use services from both St Helier Station and Morden Tube Station to reach Waterloo in approximately 30 minutes. For drivers, the A217 provides convenient access to the M25 via junction eight.
Following the success of its nearby development, the Waverley Apartments in Morden which were snapped up within six months of their launch, Barratt is recommending prospective purchasers should register their interest in The Willows as soon as possible.
