‘Kinetica’ in E8 showcases innovative design With a wide choice of new-build apartments on the market, superior design and high specification are essential to make a development stand out from the crowd. With its striking shape - similar to that of the ‘Flatiron’ building in New York City - innovative 5 metre vertical wind turbine and high quality fittings, Telford Homes’ Kinetica in E8 will certainly create a lasting impression.

Kinetica has been designed by architects Waugh Thistleton who are renowned for their bold initiatives. The development takes the form of a curved fourteen-storey ivory coloured tower, cleverly shaped to harness wind power which will be captured on the south side of the tower by four vertical axis turbines. The tower will have a total of 41 one, two and three bedroom apartments for open market sale, over B1 commercial space and shared ownership homes on the lower floors and a communal roof garden. An adjacent four storey building for affordable rental accommodation for the Metropolitan Housing Trust completes the scheme.

The layout of the apartments makes the most of the innovative shape of the building. Many apartments will feature curved living room walls and a superb curved balcony with views across north London. As well as a striking exterior, the interiors at Kinetica will be fitted out to the high quality standards associated with Telford Homes, with Urban Myth kitchens featuring Smeg appliances and ceramic floor tiling, bathrooms and en suites featuring Roca sanitary ware and ceramic wall and floor tiling.

Purchasers also benefit from Telford Homes’ enviable customer service package which ensures superior product finish, attention to detail and a two year free-of-charge support service, available 24/7.

The duplexes and three bedroom premium specification apartments on the 12th and 13th floors offer even more luxury, with Siemens appliances and stone quartz worktops in the kitchens, upgraded Roca suites in the bathrooms and timber flooring throughout the living area. These top floor apartments feature high-level terraces and balconies, with far-reaching 180° views to the west, north and east.

Kinetica also showcases a number of 21st century eco features. The innovative wind turbines on the spine of the tower will be designed and installed by wind technology experts Quiet Revolution. The smooth-running and vibration free mechanism provides renewable energy contributions for the building with any excess going back into the National Grid. There is a green sedum roof and a brown roof to create some natural habitat for wildlife, in particular the Black Redstart bird.

As well as possessing excellent design and specification, Kinetica also benefits from a great location. Situated on Ramsgate Street E8 and close to Dalston Lane and Kingsland High Street, Kinetica’s completion in early 2010 should coincide with the opening of the extended East London line. The new Dalston Junction station will be just around the corner from the development, providing fast and frequent trains to Hoxton, Shoreditch and Bishopsgate, then all the way down to New Cross, Crystal Palace and South London.

Kinetica is also very handy for a collection of excellent bars, restaurants and amenities, including high street shops, lively street markets such as the Ridley Road market, an independent cinema, and the green spaces of Hackney Downs and London Fields, with its newly refurbished art deco Lido.

Sheena Ellwood, Sales and Marketing Director at Telford Homes, comments: “At Telford Homes we believe excellent design and optimum specification are extremely important. Combined with our service reputation, we feel that the design and fit-out at Kinetica really stands out from the crowd, which will make it an inspiring and rewarding place to invest and or live.”
