Stay in bed longer at Forest Hill Central

16th June 2008 Print
When the alarm goes off, interrupting peaceful sleep and bringing in the harsh reality of another working day, those extra few minutes in bed are all important.

Therefore reducing the journey time into work as much as possible is a priority for many young professionals and that's when living next to a station benefits those who find it a little hard to get out of bed in the morning.

At Forest Hill Central, Berkeley Homes' new development in SE23, residents will be able to get out of bed and straight on to the train, as the apartments are situated just across the road from the station. From there, the overground train provides a link to London Bridge in as little as 12 minutes. Located on the corner of Perry Vale and Hindsley's Place, these homes offer a very convenient journey for anyone working in the City.

The 71 one, two and three bedroom contemporary apartments offer a great opportunity to buy a home off-plan in an area where the transport connections will be further improved with the opening of the refurbished East London line in June 2010, just one year after the first residents move into the development. The new line, stretching from Dalston Junction in the north to West Croydon in the south, will connect Forest Hill with the City (Whitechapel and Shoreditch) and connections to Canary Wharf, with sixteen trains an hour running through the station. The lines will ultimately be extended to link with Highbury & Islington to the north and Clapham Junction to the west, making commuting times much quicker to many places.

At the weekend, the proximity of the station means residents are in easy reach of Crystal Palace, Dulwich Village and further afield the new East London Line will connect with the fashionable East End nightspots of Shoreditch and the retail and leisure complex at Surrey Quays. The Forest Hill area itself is welcoming in wider regeneration as a new mix of people move to the area.

Piers Clanford, Managing Director of Berkeley Homes (South East London) Ltd, comments: "An apartment here is a commuter's dream. In the fast-paced London life, when making the most of every minute counts - even if those are extra minutes asleep - it's location, location, location that matters. Lots of people don't want a fifteen minute walk to the station; they want to be right there. Forest Hill Central is extremely well located and buyers getting in now will reap the benefit that the new East London line will bring to the area."

Prices start from £250,000 for one-bedroom apartment and from £325,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. For more information on Forest Hill Central, visit Berkeleyhomes.co.uk.
