24th June 2008 Print
A race to reserve at Hoopers Yard Buyers looking for a home close to London’s Square Mile should head straight to Berkeley Homes (South East Living) Ltd’s Hoopers Yard development in E1, where 25 apartments remain for sale. The scheme, which is part of the City Quarter development at 99 Leman Street, is a rare opportunity to live within walking distance of the financial district.

With just 11 one-bedroom apartments and only seven two-bedroom apartments remaining for sale at Hoopers Yard, prospective purchasers should be quick off the mark in reserving, especially now a new show apartment has opened. The new interior design is helping buyers visualise how living in central London can offer a haven of tranquillity, whilst also giving visitors the chance to see the superior Berkeley specification in situ.

Design and lifestyle consultants Box66 has created a sumptuous scheme for the two-bedroom apartment, displaying how a city apartment can become a liveable home with the right interior design. With a soothing colour palette, tactile surfaces and functional yet funky pieces of furniture, it’s a sensory feast.

Fiona Ashford, who is responsible for architectural design at Box66, comments: “We have designed the Hoopers Yard show apartment to be an escape in the city. The scheme has an ethereal feel, with sheer fabrics and shiny surfaces. We wanted a professional couple to walk around and really identify with the chic styling.”

Knitting the interior scheme together is a palette of colours inspired by nature. Shades of slate grey, taupe, mushroom, chocolate brown, smoky quartz and ebony can be seen in the soft furnishings and on the walls, creating a cool, calm atmosphere that is the antithesis of busy working life. Glossy lacquered furniture in white, dark brown and black can be seen throughout the apartment, with nods to the Bauhaus design movement, Le Corbusier and classic Italian style.

Piers Clanford, Managing Director of Berkeley Homes (South East London) Ltd, comments: “As the final phase of new build homes at City Quarter, we feel we have saved the best until last, with the Hoopers Yard apartments set around a landscaped courtyard. We believe the new show apartment that is a true haven that and this will appeal to purchasers wanting to live at this coveted address. Therefore, we don’t expect the apartments to be on the market for very long.”

Hoopers Yard has been designed by award winning architects Sheppard Robson. Its design includes apartments with glass-fronted living rooms, unusually high ceilings and penthouses with floor-to-ceiling glazing. The majority of the apartments also benefit from a patio or balcony overlooking a landscaped central courtyard.

The Hoopers Yard specification has been chosen to meet the demands for 21st century living, yet it has enduring appeal. Alno kitchens with concealed handles and white glass doors, grey composite stone worksurfaces and splashbacks, Siemens appliances, Hansgrohe fittings in the bathrooms, bathroom cabinets with mirrored doors, vanity shelves with feature lighting, contemporary bathroom suites in white, chrome finish ladder-style heated towel rails, and wiring for entertainment and telecommunications are all as standard.

The penthouses build upon this specification with the addition of luxury Linea Quattro kitchens, upgraded Miele appliances, underfloor heating in the bathrooms and shower rooms, and a comfort heating and cooling system. Roof mounted solar collector panels also contribute to the penthouses’ hot water system and reduces owners’ carbon footprint.

Prices at Hoopers Yard start from £395,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, from £585,00 for a two-bedroom apartment, from £549,500 for a three-bedroom apartment, and from £850,000 for a two-bedroom penthouse.

The Sales and Marketing Suite, located on Leman Street, E1, is open daily: weekdays 10am until 6pm (until 8pm Tuesday) and at weekends 10am until 5pm.
