Out of Africa and into Battersea

An unusual interior design scheme influenced by the great plains of Africa is being showcased in a new show apartment at Orion, a stylish new development of apartments built by Higgins Homes on Battersea Park Road, Battersea, London. Three stylised chrome gazelle’s heads form a striking feature artwork in the reception room, with an earthy, African-inspired colour scheme combined with metallic and monochrome highlights running throughout the elegant apartment.

Gary Pearce, Head of Interior Design at Griffin House Interiors, who designs show homes for Higgins Homes, comments: “The scheme we have designed at Orion is attention-grabbing and dramatic and shows the open living spaces off to best effect. I have taken inspiration from an African landscape and used a combination of bold patterns and earthy tones, with monochrome detailing throughout the apartment.

“The feature wall on the living / dining room has sand-coloured, metallic and cream striped wallpaper, onto which are mounted three stylised chrome gazelle heads. Both bedrooms feature similar colours to striking effect. The master bedroom has an eye-catching over-sized headboard and both have geometric dark wood furniture.
