Lock up and leave in style at Hoopers Yard

7th August 2008 Print
Whether you are a frequent business traveller, have a second home abroad or just like peace of mind when you leave for a holiday, good security is of paramount importance when choosing a new property.

That’s why Berkeley Homes (South East London) Ltd has ensured its Hoopers Yard phase at City Quarter on Leman Street, E1, enjoys a wealth of security features. The 45 one and two-bedroom apartments, and two and three-bedroom duplex penthouses near to Wapping are the ideal base for those who spend periods of time away from home.

Hoopers Yard’s is only 4.7 miles from London City Airport[1] and as little as 14 minutes by public transport[2] to St Pancras International train station. When you couple this with the development’s Square Mile fringe location, you can see why the apartments appeal to frequent travellers and the international business community.

The biggest security draws at Hoopers Yard is a daytime concierge and a night-time porter. The concierge is based on-site in a slick, stylish lobby, with a hotel-style reception desk, polished tiled floors and floor-to-ceiling glazing. The concierge is happy to take in parcels for Hoopers Yard residents and will monitor all aspects of the development by day via CCTV. The night porter, who is based in Sugar House, provides a welcoming presence for those returning home after dark.

Access to the apartments in Hoopers Yard and across the City Quarter development is via an electronic door entry system, with electronic access to common areas, to ensure that only residents and authorised personal can frequent the development.

Each apartment also boasts a high security multi-locking oak veneer entrance door, complete with spy-hole viewer. If purchasers want to enhance security even further, Berkeley Homes has provided every property with pre-wiring for a security alarm. In addition, for vehicle owners, a number of car parking spaces in a secure, gated underground area can be secured by separate negotiation.

As well as enjoying high levels of security at Hoopers Yard, there’s also the benefit of communal landscaped courtyards. These will be maintained year-round by the management agency, meaning residents don’t have to worry about overgrown lawns or un-watered shrubs while they are away.

Piers Clanford, Managing Director for Berkeley Homes (South East London) Ltd, is quick to point out: “At Hoopers Yard we have created a secure environment for residents as we know a lot of them will be away on business and leisure travel. Secure access is often top of a purchaser’s list, so we have installed an electronic system that provides peace of mind. Our location on the edge of the Square Mile appeals to the international business fraternity whose work takes them away from home, and it is that type of purchaser who will appreciate the security efforts at Hoopers Yard.”

Hoopers Yard is the final release of new build properties at City Quarter. The Zone One development is under a 10-minute walk from Tube stations at Tower Hill, Aldgate and Aldgate East, and is within a 15-minute walk of Liverpool Street, Fenchurch Street and Bank stations. The DLR at Tower Gateway is also close by and offers easy access to Canary Wharf, Docklands and City Airport. City Quarter will have a Streetcar-run car club based on site.

Prices at Hoopers Yard start from £395,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, from £585,000 for a two-bedroom apartment and from £850,000 for a two-bedroom duplex penthouse. The Sales and Marketing Suite at 99 Leman Street, E1, is open daily: weekdays 10am until 6pm (until 8pm Tuesday), and at weekends 10am until 5pm. Alternatively, interested parties can log on to Cityquarter.co.uk for further details.
