A shoppers’ paradise in Acton

10th September 2008 Print
A shoppers’ paradise in Acton Residents at Berkeley Homes (Urban Living) Ltd’s West 3 London Apartments development in Acton will soon have a state of the art 1.6 million sq ft shopping centre within easy reach, with the opening of the Westfield Centre in Shepherd’s Bush.

More than just a shopper’s paradise, the Westfield Centre will have a new tube station, 50 restaurants and a cinema, providing a social and leisure hub that will be just 10 minutes from West 3 London Apartments by tube travelling from East Acton to the new Wood Lane station. For those who prefer to travel by foot, the Westfield Centre is 35 minutes away.

A new phase of properties has just been launched, offering just 26 apartments in the iconic Whitehall-style building located on Bromyard Avenue. The studios, one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses are located on the fourth and fifth floors. The properties enjoy a south facing aspect, with some apartments boasting roof terraces with wide reaching views over the London skyline. Prices start from £262,500.

Residents at this former Ministry of Pensions building will be able to swap the West End for West London when the Westfield Centre opens its doors on 30th October 2008, becoming Europe’s largest urban shopping centre and creating an economy-boosting 7,000 new jobs.

Paul Vallone, Managing Director at Berkeley Homes (Urban Living) Ltd, comments: “West 3 London Apartments enjoys quick and easy access to the new shopping centre by public transport. We also have a car club in operation on site, so residents can choose to hire a vehicle for more extensive shopping trips. The Westfield Centre provides a vital piece of infrastructure for West London, especially with the new Wood Lane tube station opening. Buyers at West 3 London Apartments are bound to reap the rewards of having such a facility close by.”

The Westfield centre will be the third largest shopping centre in Britain, with over 300 shops, from high street names to designer boutiques. Catering for all budgets, brands with floor space include Next, Boots, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams and Waitrose, through to high-end labels like Louis Vuitton, Mulberry and Tiffany.

A centre of such magnitude needs to be sustainable so a multi-billion pound investment package is underway to ensure that travelling to and from the Westfield Centre will be trouble free. A new transport interchange will open alongside the centre, bringing together bus, tube, rail and taxi travel. In addition, Shepherd’s Bush and White City Central line tube stations will be remodelled. Although created with the Westfield Centre in mind, the improved public transport options will benefit those living in the W3 postcode.

Closer to home, those living at West 3 London Apartments will soon have a Tesco supermarket within a 2 minute walk of the development. The store, which is on Uxbridge Road, will have its own bakery and wine section and is ideal for fresh produce shopping and last minute buys.

More than just a collection of properties, West 3 London Apartments is a destination development with a wealth of communal facilities. Five internal landscaped courtyards provide private outdoor space for residents, while the on-site car club allows residents to hire one of two VW Golf’s without the hassle of car tax and MOTs. Completing the facilities is the management suite, which operates on a resident’s only hire basis. The suite offers conferencing and office facilities, including full networking support for PC technology, a dining/board room, a kitchen and shower facilities.

The apartments benefit from a superior specification, with fitted kitchens and bathrooms, integrated appliances and contemporary fixtures and fittings. Berkeley Homes (Urban Living) Ltd has meticulously retained the impressive exterior façade of the building, including the feature windows and imposing entrance arches.
