Planning consent for new homes near 2012 Olympic village

Housebuilder Bellway Thames Gateway has been granted planning consent by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets for the re-development of a former scrap metal year called Island Site in Bow. The development, just off Tredegar Road, will house 86 homes set in three blocks, and will overlook the London 2012 Olympic Village.

Peter Knights, Sales Manager for Bellway Thames Gateway, said: “We’re delighted that the Borough has approved the planning application and we’re looking forward to delivering this important site. Bow is an ideal location and the redevelopment of this site along with the Olympic preparations will help to further unlock its potential.”

Groundworks for the development will begin and the end of 2008 whilst build completion is expected by then end of 2011. Marketing will begin mid 2009.
