Three top honours for Barratt's Allingham Court

Three top honours for Barratt's Allingham Court Allingham Court, Barratt West London's prestigious development in The Bishops Avenue, Hampstead, has secured no less than three top awards in two of the property industry's most prestigious award schemes.

In the Daily Mail UK Property Awards 2008, Allingham Court was crowned as ‘Best Development in London' and achieved the highest possible ranking of Five Stars. In recognition of its superb landscaping, the development has also been honoured with two Gold Awards in the 2008 Daily Express New Homes Garden Awards.

This award-winning development of 12 outstanding residences, where prices have ranged from £4 million to over £11 million, was judged the ‘Best Development in London' by a distinguished panel of property industry experts. Each entry was scored against a wide range of categories and Allingham Court emerged as the clear winner, with the sole Five Star ranking awarded establishing its pre-eminent position.

In the Garden Awards, Allingham Court won a Gold award for ‘Best Communal Garden' and went on to scoop another gold in the top accolade of ‘Landscape of the Year'.

Situated on the highly coveted western side of The Bishops Avenue, Allingham Court joins the ranks of substantial, almost palace-like houses that line the road. The twelve homes are set within two ‘Arts and Crafts' mansion-style houses that combine modernism with vernacular architecture, with a linking main entrance - a welcoming cube of royal blue-tinted glass that draws residents and visitors in and down to the lower ground floor entrance foyer.

No expense has been spared on the distinctive design and specification of the residences, both inside and out. Each boasts generously proportioned rooms with ceiling heights of approximately three metres, all complemented by magnificent walnut doors throughout. Private terraces or balconies, coffered ceilings, air cooling systems, underfloor heating and home networking are an integral part of each property. The stunning bathrooms and ensuites have walls and floors clad with marble and limestone, and the comprehensively fitted kitchens feature high spec Poggenpohl units.

The beautiful award-winning gardens extend to one and half landscaped acres and combine the classical formality and structure of a period garden with contemporary materials, strong lines and ribbons of water.

An array of formal garden rooms have been fashioned, each with an individual personality, within an attractive rectilinear framework, mirroring the architecture of Allingham Court and merging the boundaries between the inside and the outside in careful concord. Living green walls of clipped hornbeam hedges define and enclose the garden rooms, providing a focal point for the landscape and a façade of privacy for residents using the spaces.

A silent ribbon of water running through the landscape guides visitors from the blue glass of the entrance to the central courtyard and on to the peaceful garden rooms. The mansions' walls of complementary cream and terracotta contrast pleasingly with the vibrant greens of the garden.

Residents enjoy a luxury indoor swimming pool and health and fitness suite, while the 24-hour concierge service takes care of day-to-day requirements. Security is paramount with electronic entrance gates, individual security systems, CCTV and secure underground parking facilities.

A three-bedroom luxury residence is currently available at Allingham Court, The Bishops Avenue. Priced £4,150,000, it extends to 2,600 sq ft.
