London homes for ethical consumers

8th December 2008 Print
Notting Hill London, the private sales division of the Notting Hill Housing Group is leading the way in providing homes for the growing number of ethical consumers. Through its “profit for purpose” ethos, all profits generated by the company are used by the Group to provide affordable homes and services that improve the lives of Londoners who need a helping hand in life.

The rise in ethical consumerism has lead many organisations to offer products and services that match the consumers’ conscience.

To date Notting Hill London has successfully launched and sold out at Whitechapel Depot, Whitechapel and 661 London Road, Isleworth. The company is currently marketing its third scheme New Barnet Green located in New Barnet, which is already over 75% sold.

Mark Vaughan, Sales and Marketing Director for Notting Hill London comments: “Everything we do at Notting Hill London is shaped by what people want. It’s been a bold step for us in terms of launching private sales but it has paid off and it is extremely rewarding to know that by developing thoughtful, value for money homes we and our customers have been able to make a huge difference to many people’s lives and to local communities.”

Many consumers invest a lot of time and money into products and lifestyle choices to benefit society. Sales of fair trade products, green cars and cleaning products as well as green energy suppliers continue to grow.

Notting Hill London’s properties now offer consumers the chance to “give while you live”. Every penny of profit from the sale of new homes is recycled back into the Trust to improve the lives of homeless, poorly housed and vulnerable people across London by providing housing, training, support and job opportunities.

In 2007 Notting Hill Housing Group made a profit of £22.1 million and £17 million of that was paid to the Trust for positive social purpose.

Notting Hill London has a portfolio of over 400 homes in the development pipeline, either on site or in planning stages, across Brownfield land sites in London, in locations including Streatham, Richmond, Barnet, Camden and Islington. Notting Hill London is aiming to build over 300 homes for private sale per annum.

Notting Hill London’s current development New Barnet Green is a private gated development on North London’s leafy borders. The scheme comprises 21 two-bedroom apartments, many with balcony or terrace area. Video-entry security, private parking and cycle storage is also located onsite. Prices for the remaining two-bedroom apartments at New Barnet Green will start at £249,999 inclusive of car parking.
