Barratt unveils luxury apartments in London

The development – to be called, simply, No 10 Rochester Row – will eventually comprise 34 homes ranging from large one-bedroom apartments with studies through to magnificent three-bedroom duplexes extending to almost 2000 sq ft.
A key feature of No 10 Rochester Row will be an atrium rising to the full seven-storey height of the building, flooding a private central courtyard with natural light. There will be private underground parking for all apartments – a rare and valuable commodity in this part of London.
No 10 Rochester Row also promises to become a real London landmark, as Barratt has been working with well-known artist Oliver Marsden to effectively turn the entire façade of the building into a work of art. A series of striking concentric circles to Oliver’s design will be engraved into the cladding on the frontage.
Adam Lawrence, managing director of Barratt’s London & Thames Gateway region, said: “No 10 Rochester Row is a tremendously exciting project in one of the most desirable areas of London or, indeed, any other great international city.
“An earlier development of ours at nearby Pimlico proved a huge success for us and generated the sort of high-level, international interest that we are seeing here, despite the general economic gloom. With three sales notched up before a brick has been laid, we’re very excited about the prospects for 10 Rochester Row.”
The Rochester Row development site was previously occupied by a crane-worked multi-storey car park, which had become outdated and unviable. Barratt West London acquired it from Westminster City Council and it has now been demolished.
The new building, which includes some 8,500 sq ft of ground-floor retail or commercial space, has been designed for Barratt by Assael Architecture. Preparatory site work is now under way.
The new homes at No 10 Rochester Row will extend from around 700 sq ft to almost 2000 sq ft and will be finished to sumptuous luxury specification, with fully-fitted designer kitchens and bathrooms, plus balconies to all apartments. The penthouses will each have two terraces with stunning views over central London. All homes will be accessed through the central atrium.
Westminster is the heart of London and is convenient for the capital’s finest cultural, leisure and shopping amenities, as well as for Parliament, the west end business centres and London’s unrivalled transport facilities.
Large one-bedroom apartments with studies start at £584,995, large two-bedroom apartments with studies extending up to 1,200 sq ft start from £1.35 million and the duplex penthouses start at £2.3 million. Parking spaces cost an additional £35,000 each.
