Mortgage protection gives peace of mind for buyers

Mortgage protection gives peace of mind for buyers Whatever surprises life may have in store, buyers at Barratt London’s new Kennington Park Square development in Kennington, SE11, can relax in the knowledge that their mortgage repayments are protected for up to three years, thanks to free insurance with a new home.

Barratt is paying the first year’s premium to insure buyers against being unable to make their mortgage payments through no fault of their own.

“It’s great to have a little extra peace of mind when you’re moving into a new home,” said Gary Patrick, Operations Director at Barratt East London.

“Whether it’s illness, injury, redundancy or something else unexpected, this policy will ensure that monthly mortgage repayments are covered in full for up to three years. It’s a welcome element of reassurance in these uncertain times.”

The free insurance applies to standard protection policies taken out by homebuyers as a requirement of their mortgage offer. Customers will have no monthly premiums to pay for the first year and the cover – should it be needed – will meet the whole of each month’s mortgage repayments for up to three years. Buyers may still be eligible for other assistance packages from Barratt.

Kennington Park Square is a £42m project located close to the fringes of central London’s Zone 1 and comprises more than 120 one-bedroom apartments for sale at prices starting from under £235,000.

All homes have fully-fitted designer kitchens, complete with integrated appliances, plus fully-fitted bathrooms, including en suites in the two-bedroom homes. All apartments will have balconies or terraces from which to enjoy the views.

Kennington Park Square is in an outstandingly convenient location, just a few hundred yards from Kennington Underground which offers services to London Bridge in 5min, Leicester Square and Bank in 7min, and Kings Cross in 16min.

Prices at Kennington Park Square start from £234,995 for one bedroom apartments, some available through the Government’s new HomeBuy Direct scheme, which enables buyers to move in for just 70 per cent of full market price.
