A new launch for London

Over 200 people attended the event and Grainger plc, the developer behind the scheme, has confirmed that a number of reservations were made on the night and second viewings have already been booked.
Hornsey Road Apartments are a collection of 150 completed one, two and three bedroom apartments available to buy and to rent. Set on the site of a former Victorian bath complex in North Islington, the scheme features a grand and newly refurbished nineteenth century gatehouse, a high quality new build element and an imposing 24-metre chimney surrounded by a five-storey glazed atrium that serves as the scheme’s centrepiece. The development also features two landscaped squares, 35 underground parking spaces, CCTV security cameras and a porter.
Richard Shaw, development director at Grainger comments that ‘’The outstanding success of our launch event proves that there are still purchasers out there looking to buy well specified homes that are good value for money.’’
Luke Mills of Savills, one of the agents for the development, also commented: “This is the first new development that Savills London has launched in the past 12 months and we are absolutely delighted with the high level of attendance. What we have seen here is a developer who understands what the market needs and has provided it: good sized, well specified, well located and realistically priced apartments in a quality development.
Luke continues, “This is one of the first completed developments that we have launched and I think this is going to be the start of a new trend for development launches in this type of market. There are less investors purchasing at the moment and the people who are buying are end-users who want to actually see the finished product rather than just a building site and a piece of paper.”
As the UK’s largest residential landlord, Grainger plc has adopted a dual approach to the development, meaning that properties are available for sale and to rent. The developer is selling approximately two thirds of the apartments while retaining one third of them to let out through its direct lettings arm, graingerlets. Through this strategy, residents will benefit from the developer’s long-term involvement in the scheme, while Grainger will enjoy the addition of 58 highly desirable properties to its existing portfolio of around 14,000 properties in the UK.
Liz McCallum, Grainger’s lettings director also remarked on the success of the launch, “We already have a number of firm second viewings from people who saw the show flats on the night and now wish to pick their own flat as soon as possible”.
With an edgy but thoughtful design, quality fixtures and the use of attractive materials Hornsey Road Apartments have been built to a superior standard.
The bedrooms in the apartments are light, spacious and comfortable with 100% wool carpets and full height built-in wardrobes in the master bedroom while kitchens are stylish and functional, featuring Smeg appliances and reconstituted stone worktops. Each apartment also benefits from contemporary bathroom suites, oak hardwood flooring, and energy saving recessed lighting. The majority of apartments also benefit from a balcony or terrace, in addition to the scheme’s landscaped garden.
Hornsey Road Apartments are situated in the north of the London Borough of Islington, an area renowned for its nightlife, thriving shopping districts and proximity to central London and the City. With a wide range of amenities and superb transport links via the Victoria and Piccadilly lines, as well as bus and overland train routes, the area is favoured by young professionals, students, and families alike.
