It’s a family affair at Twenty

Brothers Ian (27) and Richard Butcher (24) grew up within a couple of miles of the new development, just off Orpington High Street, which caught their family’s eye before it launched to the public. Their father Paul felt it was the ideal time to help his sons onto the property ladder, offering to fund deposits on two apartments at Twenty for the brothers.
Linden Homes provided further assistance, covering the costs of stamp duty and legal fees, as well as offering an additional £1,000 to upgrade and tailor their interior specification to suit individual tastes and requirements.
Ian Butcher commented:
“I’ve been saving up to buy a property for a while but it is difficult to get a decent mortgage without a sizeable deposit. An offer of help with the deposit from my parents has allowed me to take advantage of the deals currently available, and along with my own savings I should be able to manage the mortgage, without overstretching myself.
“Richard and I both work in central London and are keen to stay in this area to be close to friends and family. It’s very rare to find a new development like this here, offering such good value for money and a great location near the station.”
Paul Butcher commented:
“We have always wanted to help our sons buy their first property. The current economic climate has presented the opportunity to do this, with house prices now very competitive and savings rates paying little dividends. I’m delighted to be in a position to offer the financial support required for my sons to buy into the Twenty development.
“When I discovered there was a new development planned for this area, I ensured that Ian and Richard were on the waiting list so we’d be informed as soon as the homes became available.”
Having got the seal of approval from their parents, Ian and Richard became one of the first people to reserve apartments off-plan at the development.
Ian and Richard have both purchased two bedroom, two bathroom apartments on the third floor at Twenty. Both hope to rent out their second bedroom to friends to help with running costs.
Following the phenomenal early sales success at Twenty, there is now just one apartment left for sale, priced at £210,000. A new phase of three bedroom townhouses is due to launch in June, with guide prices starting at £299,000.
