5 stars for Barratt in London

The company’s divisions in both East and West London are rated as the maximum 5 star builders in the annual HBF survey, in which more than 20,000 new home buyers nationwide took part.
Asked if they were satisfied with the quality of their new home, and whether they would recommend their builder to a friend, more than 90 per cent of Barratt buyers in London answered yes. In fact, Barratt West London scored 95.7 per cent – the highest in the entire Barratt Group.
Alastair Baird, managing director of Barratt London, said: “We’re delighted to achieve this rating which reflects the high quality of our new homes and the service we provide.
“The results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our staff, who have put enormous effort into giving outstanding service to the people who matter most, our customers.”
The poll covered the 12 months up to September 2008, and buyers were sent a questionnaire around eight weeks after moving in.
HBF Executive Chairman Stewart Baseley said: “Ensuring that customers are happy with their new homes is of crucial importance to homebuilders, especially in the current market.
“While being ever-conscious that more needs to be done, we are pleased that our survey results show consistently high levels of achievement across all areas...they demonstrate that builders are building what customers want and doing it in a way that ensures satisfaction in the product.”
Barratt London has reported a strong sales performance in the first part of the year and says its success is down to great locations and products, competitive prices and deals to suit all kinds of buyers.
“We have a number of ways to help our buyers,” said Alastair Baird. “If you’re a First Time Buyer you could move in for just 70 per cent of the price under the HomeBuy Direct scheme, which we operate in conjunction with the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency.
“Homeowners wanting a larger property could take advantage of our part-exchange service. We are offering some of our best ever deals but they can only be available for a limited period and we are fast running out of stock. I’d advise anyone who’s interested in a great new home to come and talk to us soon.”
