St Andrews is poised for Olympics boom
The development was formally launched this week from a spectacular new hi-tech marketing centre located in Devas Street, Bow (E3).
St Andrews – one of the largest single schemes started in London this year – is being undertaken in partnership with the Homes & Communities Agency, the London Development Agency, Tower Hamlets Council and Circle Anglia housing group. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, regards St Andrews as strategically important for London.
The development is playing a key part in the monumental regeneration that is now transforming the area centred around the 2012 Olympics. As such, it offers homebuyers and investors an early opportunity to buy into East London’s future at low off-plan prices.
Barratt London managing director Alastair Baird said: “We believe history will show that St Andrew’s came to the market at the perfect moment for homebuyers and investors to get the best possible value in an area that will shortly be the focus of global attention.
“London prices generally are at the lowest they have been for some years, and we will be selling the launch phase of St Andrews – Nexus – at first-release prices, starting at under £200,000. It’s a great opportunity in a part of London that is going to be very fashionable in a very short space of time.”
St Andrews offers studio, one, two and three-bedroom homes in stylish contemporary buildings ranging in height from three storeys to 27 storeys – all set within landscaped grounds. In fact, the development will include a ‘pocket park’ complete with an installation by renowned community artist Bobby Lloyd.
All homes will include fully-fitted designer kitchens, fully-fitted bathrooms, balconies and windows designed to bring in the maximum light and space, making them outstanding examples of flexible urban living for the 21st century.
For maximum energy efficiency – and low energy bills – the development is being fitted with a communal energy centre which uses the latest low-carbon technology.
Buyers at St Andrews will also benefit from an on-site concierge service and there are plans for a fitness suite and crèche, a coffee shop and even a police office. There will also be a car club for residents, enabling them to use a ‘pool’ car only when they need one.
St Andrews is, however, in an incredibly convenient location. Bromley-by-Bow underground station is virtually next door and Devons Road DLR station is just around the corner, putting Canary Wharf, the City and the West End within quick, easy reach.
Stratford station – East London’s transport hub – is less than a mile away, with mainline and bus services to all parts of London and the UK and, eventually, to Europe, thanks to a planned Eurostar stop.
Prices for the first release of homes at Nexus start at £199,995 for a one-bedroom apartment and £249,995 for a two-bedroom apartment.
The marketing center is open daily from 10.00am to 6.00pm – visit barratthomes.co.uk/standrews for more details.
