George Wimpey sponsors Sunflower Music Festival
Leading housebuilder George Wimpey West London has kindly agreed to sponsor the Sunflower Music Festival taking place at The White Hart, London Road, Hook on Saturday June 27th.The festival kicks off at 2pm and celebrates the life of Mrs Kathleen Jennings, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 and sadly died two years' later after extensive treatment.
George Wimpey is the main sponsor for the event, which is free to attend and includes a BBQ, motorbike ride-out, various stalls, face-paints, tarot readings, dog show and cute dog competition.
Music is supplied all day and night from local bands including Matt Hegarty, Tiny Spark and Attn Of The Polar Bears, DJ’s in the evening from The Square Bar Camberley, SS Radio and Citrus Sounds.
Organiser Fi Donnison, one of Kath's friends, said: "Kath’s passion for music led to the idea of holding a festival in her memory and raise money for Cancer Care Cymru and Cancer Research Wales who lovingly looked after Kath during her illness.
"The Sunflower Music Festival will be a fun day out for all the family, all visitors are encouraged to bring a sunflower."
Other attractions include an amazing raffle with a 32GB Apple iPod touch, Samsung digital camera, Jongleurs tickets and many more prizes. There is also the opportunity to take part in the sunflower challenge.
George Wimpey West London's headquarters are in Hook and the company is supporting the local event with a donation of fun characters, Sandi Pitt and George Wimpey.
