Soldiers salute Bellway construction standards

The soldiers, from nearby Chetwynd Barracks, spent several hours looking into the electrical installation and compliance with the stringent insulation requirements of new homes at the properties as part of their ongoing training.
Staff Sergeant Smith explains: “Royal Engineers are soldiers who also have a ‘hands-on’ trade and this was an opportunity for those specializing in construction and electrics to see newly installed workmanship at first hand.
“We work to the same high standards as Bellway and it was a very useful experience for the group to inspect and discuss electricity safety requirements as well as looking at ways to reduce energy costs with effective insulation.”
Charlton Park, off Swiney Way Chilwell, is one of Bellway’s most established developments giving the visiting soldiers the opportunity to view properties under construction and nearing completion.
Bellway construction director, Paul Eastwood, added: “We were very happy to help the Royal Engineers and pleased they found it such a valuable experience.
“As a company, we place great emphasis on staff development and construction standards and it’s clear the army share our views as they provide comprehensive training for their own specialist trades people.”
High construction standards and a wide choice of property designs have made Charlton Park one of Bellway’s most popular developments.
Consisting of a range of two, three, four and five bedroom homes, it is now in its third and final phase of development. Homes currently on release for sale start from £136,000 for the two bedroom Haverford and range up to £329,950 for the spacious detached Coniston.
Charlton Park, off Swiney Way Chilwell, is just a 20 minute drive from Nottingham city centre and four miles from Junction 25 of the M1.
