Class showhome scores with first-time buyers

A showhome from Miller Homes had something so different about it that it really scored highly with first-time buyers Katherine Cook and Lee Marshall. Katherine, a school teacher, and Lee, a warehouse team leader and former professional footballer who now plays for Stamford AFC, were smitten when they looked around Ascot Park, Gedling.

The couple, who had been living with Katherine's parents as they saved up to buy a home together, wanted somewhere with ease of access for work and Lee's football, near family, and importantly for Katherine, somewhere within reach of Nottingham's vast array of shops.

As Katherine looked around a couple of homes with her parents, she was told that the showhome, a three-storey Wolsey property, had been released.

"We really liked it and I told Lee that he had to come and see it. It has space in abundance, with a kitchen that has ample room for a table. I was brought up with family mealtimes and this is something I wanted to be able to do too with my family," says Katherine.

"The top-floor bedroom is something special, a real feature. I love everything about it, even the banister that winds up to the room. As first-time buyers, we wanted somewhere that was easy to maintain and affordable - and this house really was perfect."

The Wolsey is a three-bedroomed semi-detached townhouse that has a feature kitchen/dining area with patio doors, a master bedroom to the top floor that includes an en-suite and fitted wardrobes, and a garage or allocated parking depending upon the specific plot.

Ascot Park can be found in the much sought-after Gedling area of Nottingham, which has great road links, with easy access to the city and to the countryside, and superb schools in the locality.
