Estate agent homes in on new property

When an estate agent moves into one of your new homes using your innovative moving scheme, you know you must be doing something right. For Miller Homes East Midlands, that's exactly what's happened at its highly sought-after Duke's Mead development in the market town of Bingham.

Estate agent Antony Stephens (28) and his girlfriend Michelle Shepperdson (26), used Miller Homes' Movemaker scheme to help them move into a Milne-style property.

The couple had been living in a three-bedroomed semi-detached in Cotgrave and, because of family living nearby, they decided they wanted to stay in that area. After searching for properties, they discovered the Dukes Mead development - and that was it, they had found their new home.

One of the main features of the Milne is the sense of space and light created by the pair of French doors, opening out from both the lounge and the spacious kitchen/dining/family area, and the long window at the front of the house.

"We saw the Milne and it really had the wow factor," says Antony. "We loved the design, the plot and the location. The house has a grand feel about it, particularly with the long window at the front, and the location meant that we could get to work easily and the countryside was just across the road.

"The Movemaker scheme meant that all could be completed within a very tight timescale and took the hassle out of moving for us. The house was sold very quickly and we are delighted with Miller Homes and the house itself."

The Movemaker scheme assists buyers in selling their existing property. As part of the scheme, Miller will put the buyer's old property on the market with an Estate Agent, paying for HIPs and agents fees, and give £500 towards legal fees (with an approved legal provider) and £500 towards other moving costs, such as a removals van.

Unlike other housebuilders, the plot the buyer reserves will be taken off the market as soon as they sign-up to the scheme, so that they won't lose it or get gazumped while they try to sell their existing home.
