Christmas comes to Cotgrave

The school celebrated its first Christmas since opening its doors in January 2008 by inviting parents and local businesses to attend a craft fair and carol service, raising £1,200 in funds for the school.
Head teacher Chris Wheatley, who was this year awarded the National College for School Leadership Primary School Head teacher of the Year accolade for the East Midlands, said: "It has been an incredible first year, so we felt we needed to celebrate in style. Both children and adults alike had a brilliant time and the appearance of Santa was the icing on the cake."
Miller Homes East Midlands, which recently launched its exclusive Laurel Wolds development in Plumtree Road, on the outskirts of Cotgrave, ran a stall at the event and was impressed by the community spirit on show.
Sales advisor Jamie Varley said: "Miller Homes prides itself on building developments that add to the community so we thought it was important to show our support to the both the school and the wider community. The event was incredible fun and a huge success, it was an honour to be involved."
Cotgrave Candleby Lane School was a £7.5m new build which was formed from the amalgamation of Highfield Primary and Nursery, Cotgrave Manvers infant and Manvers junior schools.
