Gladedale brings affordable homes to Broxtowe New, affordable homes for local people in Broxtowe have gone on sale from house builders Gladedale Lincoln, in partnership with Nottingham City Council. A new show home was unveiled by the Sherriff of Nottingham, Cllr Brian Grocock, Cllr Alan Clark, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Regeneration at Nottingham City Council, and Gladedale Lincoln’s regional director, Ian Slater.

The innovative scheme, at Gladedale Lincoln’s Oakford Gardens development, will allow up to four families to purchase a new three bedroom home for just £75,000 in a shared equity deal with no additional rent charges.

Gladedale Lincoln will also pay the 5% deposit on all new homes purchased at Oakford Gardens, with prices from £95,995 for a two bedroom semi-detached home, £105,995 for a three bedroom semi-detached and £115,995 for a three bedroom detached home.

Ian Slater, regional director of Gladedale Lincoln, said: “The Broxtowe area needs investment and we believe initiatives such as this scheme with Nottingham City Council are vital for the local community. Working with the Council, we are tackling head on any lack of confidence among buyers and any barriers to local people being able to get a foot on the private property ladder.

“Although build rates have reduced in the current market, Gladedale’s appetite to bring affordable homes to new buyers in Nottingham remains undiminished. Even without the Council bought properties, prices at Oakford Gardens start at just £95,995 with a shared equity scheme available on selected plots. This makes a new home not only affordable but ensures a mortgage is more easily attainable. These are well designed, comfortable homes priced to attract hardworking families and first time buyers who will help create a more vibrant community.”

Cllr Alan Clark, said: “We’ve been working with Gladedale to help them to continue building these new homes after the downturn threatened to call a halt to their construction. The region has to do everything it can to kick start the housing market, encourage investment and regenerate our neighbourhoods.”

“Along with the house builders Gladedale Lincoln we will be demonstrating the practical steps we are taking to help low paid families afford homes and to support the fragile construction industry.

“We will also be inviting the Government Housing Minister, and MP for Derby South, to visit the city and see exemplar projects - such as Oakford Gardens - which will help to lead the city and region out of this recession.”

Oakford Gardens is a development of 51, two and three bedroom semi-detached and three bedroom detached homes in the Broxtowe area. Prices start from £95,995 for a two bedroom semi-detached home. The sales office is now open Thursday – Monday from 11am – 5pm. Log on to Gladedale.com for further information.
