Modern homes with traditional values

18th May 2009 Print
Modern homes with traditional values Do you remember fondue parties, playing Kerplunk with the family or an evening of cards with friends? One family-owned housebuilder is encouraging us all to bring back traditional values and use our homes for more than just a place to put our head at night!

Miller Homes is imploring us to use our properties how they should be...as a home! Jan Hanaby, regional sales manager for Miller Homes Yorkshire said: “I think over the years buyers have often thought of their property purchase as an investment and not necessarily a home. But now we are spending more time in our home, and quite often, looking for alternative forms of entertainment, why not get back to basics and look at the traditional values of family life and entertain in our homes?

“When we design our detached properties we have these values in mind, they are built in ways that make home entertainment easy. Most have a separate dining room and some benefit from a ‘spare’ room which could be quite easily turned into a play or games room.”

One popular detached house design is the Langley at the superb Ashtree Park development in Ashfield. The Langley, priced from just £179,995, is a substantial, double fronted five-bedroom property designed with flexibility in mind, allowing the accommodation to be adapted to almost any lifestyle or activity. The lounge, which is almost 18 feet in length, is a very light and airy space that is complemented by a front facing window and French doors leading out to the garden.

The centrally positioned staircase leads to the first floor, which comprises the master bedroom with en-suite, bedrooms four and five and the family bathroom. The second floor is comprised of two good sized dormer rooms, along with a very useful shared shower room, perfect for friends who have had a little too much the night before!

Jan continued: “With over 75 years building experience we know what makes a house a home. We also know that prices of new homes are lower than they have been for some years making buying a detached home much more affordable which may surprise some potential purchasers. So is there a better time to start a fresh in a brand new detached home and return back to the traditional values of home life? I wouldn’t say so!”

Ashtree Park is situated on Kirkby Folly Road in Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, NG17. If you and your family would like to start afresh in a brand new affordable detached home, then why not pop along to the sales centre and showhomes which are open between 10.30am and 5.30pm Thursday to Monday. Alternatively, go online to Millerhomes.co.uk.
