Rushcliffe offers a home from home

Rushcliffe offers a home from home Moving home can often be stressful – particularly if you have an existing home to sell. But for Newark businessman Ian Griffiths, it became plain sailing when he and his partner Debbie chose to move to Stamford Homes’ popular Rushcliffe development.

Ian and Debbie shelved their plans to demolish and re-build an existing home in the village of Elston to buy a brand new home from Stamford Homes.

And cherry picking their preferred home from plan meant that they were able to select the housetype and choice of location within the development – resulting in a fabulous detached home, complete with plush garden room, and stunning views of the meadow and waterside area.

The couple were helped in their move through the Stamford Homes ASSIST incentive, designed specifically for customers who have an existing home to sell.

Under the scheme, Stamford Homes will arrange for two independent valuations of the existing home, and suggest a realistic selling price based on those valuations. If the owner agrees, they are then free to reserve the Stamford home of their choice.

Through the scheme, Ian and Debbie were able to sell their existing home within four weeks, and moved temporarily into rented accommodation until their new four-bedroom detached was completed several weeks ahead of build schedule.

Ian, who owns an electronic design company in Newark, said: “The position of the house is wonderful, and being able to select the home from plan has meant we enjoy a wonderful outlook across the meadow and the river – it ticks all the boxes.

“As we lived in a village location previously, it is nice to have that same rural feel here. The house itself is wonderful, great for entertaining, and the location means that I am just two and a half miles from work, while Debbie can enjoy a short walk into the town.”

He added: “The ASSIST scheme certainly helped us to reserve the new home of our choice, and while I was kept informed of the arrangements over the sale of our existing home, I was able to concentrate on my own business without getting too involved in the nitty gritty.”

With a range of three and four-bedroom homes available, Rushcliffe offers the chance to live in a private cul-de-sac setting, while enjoying the benefits of a privately-managed, purpose-built meadow that meanders down to the River Devon.

Work is currently well under way to shape the meadow into a haven for wildlife and fauna, with Stamford Homes taking care to plan for and provide the appropriate habit and planting to attract a range of birds and wildlife.

The development itself is situated in a semi-rural location in Newark, close to the medieval town centre and all its recreational and leisure amenities. The town has enjoys easy access to the major A1, A17 and A46 roads, as well as being less than 5 minutes’ drive to Newark Railway Station.

The showhome and sales and marketing suite is open from Thursday to Sunday between 10.30am and 5pm.
