Site manager proves he’s right man for the job Vic Young site manager for Miller Homes’ Ashtree Park development in Sutton-in-Ashfield is celebrating success as the National House Building Confederation (NHBC) has recognised him in this year’s ‘Pride in the Job’ awards, which reward the very best site managers in the UK.

Vic, 46, has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry and began his career as a bricklayer working for a national house builder. He was promoted to several posts before becoming a site manager for Miller Homes in 2005. Since then Vic has achieved this accolade no less than five times along with two Seal of Excellence awards.

“I think good foundations and quality build throughout are the key to a successful site,” explained Vic. “I do set high standards and am obviously pleased to have won so many awards but the overall aim is to achieve customer satisfaction.”

Miller Homes celebrated an impressive 19 winners in total, (four being from the Yorkshire region), this year hand-picked as the crème de la crème in the business from 13,000 across the UK.

Andy Davies, regional construction director, said: “This is fantastic news for the winners and for Miller Homes. This highlights our continued development in the pursuit of excellence on the part of Miller and our employees. These awards are synonymous in the industry with build quality on developments, so we are extremely proud of Vic to have received this prestigious accolade.

“We hope that our success in this year’s role of honour will send out a clear message to customers that buying a Miller home guarantees them a quality home. Potential home buyers should be heartened by awards such as these. The message tends to be so firmly fixed on price at the moment, it is vital for customers to be assured that the quality of homes is still paramount for us.”

The ‘Pride in the Job’ awards have been running for nearly 30 years and aim to raise quality standards of new homes by introducing competition between site managers and house builders.

Andy continues: “The quality of our homes is reflected in our staff, whom we are very proud of, so well done everyone!”

Vic and his team are currently building a variety of properties at Ashtree Park, ranging from two bedroom apartments priced at just £99,000, to five bedroom detached family homes from £179,995. The development is situated on Kirkby Folly Road in Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, NG17.

If you and your family would like to start afresh in a brand new quality built home, then why not pop along to the sales centre and showhomes, open late night on Thursday 12.30 – 7.30pm and 10.30am and 5.30pm Friday to Monday? Or go online to Millerhomes.co.uk.
