Family finds more space at Friars Park

David and Lisa Kenwright along with their 21 month old twins, Daniel and Thomas, found they were outgrowing their old three- bedroom semi in Forest Town so decided the time had come to take the next step up the property ladder.
The family put their house up for sale and luckily for them it sold within a few weeks of being on the market. However, the Kenwrights had not had much luck in finding somewhere new to live and with their old house now sold, time was ticking to find a new home.
34 year old Lisa, who works as an Accountant for Sherwood Forest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, comments “We couldn’t find exactly what we wanted and things were becoming quite stressful as we knew we had to be out of our old house by the end of April.
“In the end, David and I decided to rent a property whilst we carried on searching for our dream home.”
David and Lisa saw a rental property available at Barratt’s Friars Park in Edwinstowe. They knew the area well as they had friends who lived there and were attracted by its quaint, village setting and so decided to take a look around.
Lisa adds “I grew up in an old traditional farm house so I was always a bit weary of new homes developments as I assumed they lacked character- I would never have imagined myself living on one but I agreed to take a look around as it would only be a temporary measure.
“When we arrived at Friars Park we were instantly impressed with the wide open space and the stunning views over countryside- things that I would never have associated with a new homes development.”
After looking around the rental property and being impressed with the quality and style of the homes on offer, David and Lisa decided to look into purchasing and the couple found their perfect home in the form of the five- bedroom, three storey Malvern.
Offering living space spread generously over three floors, this luxurious style is the ultimate family home. The ground floor boasts a dual aspect lounge, open plan kitchen and breakfast area with utility room off as well as a separate dining room and cloakroom. The first floor features three bedrooms, two of which benefit from en-suite facilities, plus the family bathroom whilst the second floor completes this superb style with two further bedrooms and a shower room.
Lisa adds “We fell in love with the Malvern as soon as we saw it- it was everything, and more, that we had been looking for. The layout had been thoughtfully planned and every bit of space had been utilised to its full potential. We also liked the fact that it was a three storey home so as the boys get older, we can be flexible with the layout and adapt it accordingly.
“We really love our new home and the boys in particular are enjoying having the extra space to run around in.
“Friars Park is the ideal development for us as it’s right on the edge of open countryside and we love nothing more than spending Sunday afternoons riding through the fields as a family on our bikes. What’s more, there’s a good school within walking distance which will come in handy when the boys are old enough to go to school.
“Barratt have been incredibly helpful throughout our entire buying process and we couldn’t be happier with the service we’ve received, our new home and even the development.”
James Poynor, Sales Director at Barratt North Midlands comments “Sometimes people can have pre-conceived ideas of new homes developments being full of the same house types and lacking character but at Barratt we pride ourselves on our carefully planned street scenes and thoughtfully designed homes which is why we are one of the UK’s favoured housebuilders.”
Located on Mansfield Road in the sought after village of Edwinstowe, Friars Park offers quality new homes in a charming rural location. Currently available are a superb selection of one, two-, three-, four- and five- bedroom home that are ideal for first time buyers, expanding families and downsizers alike.
