Miller Homes offers a direct solution for buyers

Miller Homes offers a direct solution for buyers Househunters in Nottinghamshire are being invited to visit two select developments from Miller Homes East Midlands to discover how a Government-backed initiative could help them to take their first steps on to the property ladder.

Over the weekend of September 12 and 13, the multi-award winning housebuilder will be opening the doors to its Little Heron Mews development in Long Eaton and The Vales in Bingham so that prospective buyers can find out more about the shared-equity HomeBuy Direct scheme.

HomeBuy Direct has been carefully structured to enable people to take an equity loan of up to 30 per cent of the purchase price which will be co-funded by Miller Homes and the Government, meaning that households earning less than £60,000 will only need to find a mortgage to cover 70 per cent of the purchase price, but can still own 100 per cent of the property.

One of the big bonuses of the scheme is that the equity loan, on which there is no interest to pay for the first five years, is only repayable after 25 years, or when the customer sells their home, whichever comes first.

Joy Goodman, sales director at Miller Homes East Midlands, which this year is celebrating its 75th anniversary commented: “HomeBuy Direct offers an affordable solution for first-time buyers who realise that property is still one of the best long term investments they can make, but up until now may have not believed that buying new was a possibility.

“We hope this weekend will boost the confidence of potential purchasers and allow them to envisage the kind of lifestyle that’s available to them, and how very affordable it is to achieve.”

Both The Vales and Little Heron Mews are situated in much sought-after areas of the county and are ideally placed for those wishing to enjoy the subtleties of suburban life, whilst still being within easy reach of both Nottingham and Derby’s bustling city centres.

Nestled on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire border, Little Heron Mews was the first development to be launched by Miller Homes in Long Eaton, while the highly-popular Vales benefits greatly from the real community village feel it gains from its location at the edge of the historic market town of Bingham.

Independent financial advisors will be available at both developments between 11am to 4pm throughout the weekend.
