Clean up with a brand new home

A Retford new homes venture was awash with fun and festivities to mark the end of this year’s ‘New Homes Week’. Members and supporters of the 7th Retford St Swithin’s Scouts turned out to clean visitors’ cars free of charge and developer Gleeson Homes laid on light refreshments and a children’s entertainer at The Grange.

The day was organised to highlight the advantages of a brand new home over an older second hand property – including the fact that a new home is easier to maintain, more energy efficient and comes with a 10-year ‘Buildmark’ warranty.

Julie Rayner, sales director for Gleeson Homes, said: “With a new home there’s also no need for any costly or time consuming repairs or renovations, which should make for an easier life. We thought it would be good to highlight this by allowing potential customers to relax in the fun-filled surroundings of our development while local scouts took care of washing their cars.”

Visitors were able to view Gleeson’s fully furnished show home and find out more about the three, four and five-bedroom homes currently for sale at The Grange, in Retford, where prices are from £157,995 to £265,995; while an independent financial adviser was on hand to help would-be customers identify the right mortgage deal for them.

In another move designed to make life easy for new home purchasers, Gleeson will consider part-exchange on selected homes for those who still have an existing property to sell.

Julie adds: “This means that purchasers don’t have to worry about finding a buyer or waiting for several transactions in a housing chain to come to fruition before they can move. We’ll buy their existing property from them so they can move into one of our new homes.”

The Grange is situated in a quiet, established residential area just a few minutes' stroll from the charming centre of historic Retford. Just off the A638, linking to the A1, it’s a great location for travel by car and particularly well situated for commuting to Nottingham, Sheffield and Lincoln; while Retford railway station is approximately one mile away offering a high-speed rail link on the London to Edinburgh line.
