Legal & General Surveying Services moves to new premises to support growth
Legal & General Surveying Services has recently relocated to larger offices in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, following significant growth over the past few years.The move provides spare capacity for future growth and modern, open-plan offices for staff to work efficiently and effectively.
Legal & General is now one of the largest distributors of property valuation surveys in the country, instructing business to over 1,000 surveyors across the UK. Over the past three years, valuations handled by Legal & General Surveying Services have increased by 157% and the value of fees handled soared by 184%.
Steve Goodall, Managing Director, Legal & General Surveying Services said, “In three years we have significantly increased the number of lender valuations and surveys that we handle. Such growth has meant that we quickly out-grew our old offices, prompting the need to find a new base from which we can expand into 2007 and beyond. We felt it was important to remain in South Yorkshire, our traditional home, and the new offices will enable us to progress towards our ambition of being the number one distributor of property valuation surveys in the country.”

Legal & General, and are members of the Legal & General ‘Mortgage Club’, allocate part of their mortgage valuation and surveying business to Legal & General Surveying Services. The company distributes this business to surveying firms that are associated with Legal & General business partners such as The Finance Planning Group Limited, Mortgage Talk and The Mortgage Advice Bureau.
A unique database system means that Legal & General is able to pinpoint the availability of a surveyor and measure service level performances. As a result, Legal & General Surveying Services is able to provide lenders with completed surveys, for any UK postcode, in an industry-leading turnaround time of 3.5 days per instruction.
